Facilities
Use Guidelines
The
following rules are designed to ensure the safety
of all members:
Please follow all safety rules posted throughout
the building.
Respect other’s rights to participate in the
same areas as you.
Members of the YMCA are expected to conduct
themselves in an appropriate manner based on
Christian values and the Golden Rule….to treat
others as you would like them to treat you.
Use proper language to avoid offending others.
For everyone’s comfort and safety, please dry
off in the shower are before entering the locker
rooms. This helps eliminate standing water on
locker room floors, increasing everyone’s safety.
Locker rooms are not attended. We ask for your
cooperation.
The hours of operation vary between the Charleston
Family and Tyler Mountain YMCA branches. When
there is a change in hours, they will be posted
at least a week in advance.
Shoes need to be worn at all times, with the
exception of the pool area.
Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied
by a parent. We encourage parent/child participation.
Avoid loud, boisterous behavior that may offend
or disturb other members or classes.
Have fun, but not at the expense of others.
Fitness equipment is available to all members
13 years of age and older. Children 13-16 must
complete a “fitness Orientation” session in
order to learn to properly use the equipment.
The YMCA assumes no responsibility for personal
injuries or loss of personal property while
suing our facilities. It is recommended that
anyone using our facilities make provisions
to provide this coverage within their own family
insurance program.
Violations of the above policies could result
in the suspension or termination of YMCA Membership
privileges.

Lockers
Lockers are provided in both the men’s and women’s
locker rooms for our member’s convenience. Full-length
lockers are “Day Use Only” and free of charge.
We strongly advise the use of locks to protect
your personal items, as the YMCA cannot be held
responsible or liable for articles damaged,
lost, or stolen. Contents of full-length lockers
must be removed upon exiting the facility. Anything
left in the full-length lockers will be moved
to Lost & Found and eventually picked up
by charity.
Short-length lockers are available for rent
throughout the year. There is a per-month pro-rated
charge for locker rentals and information can
be obtained at the Member Service Center. If
you have further questions, please contact the
Member Services Manager at 340-3540.
Towels
Towels are available at the Member Service Center
at at least one of our YMCA branches. The Member
Services staff will ask for a membership card
or other form of identification in exchange
for the towels.
